Seven Orange County Motorists Charged With DWI In State Police

New York State Police troopers busted nearly two dozen local motorists who were allegedly driving while impaired in the Hudson Valley over the holiday weekend.

The local residents charged were:

Orange County

  • On Friday, Jan. 18, State Police troopers from Montgomery arrested Lauren Baker, 29 of Walden, for DWI. She was traveling on Route 17K in Newburgh when she was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. The investigation revealed that she was impaired by alcohol and she was subsequently arrested.
  • On Friday, Jan. 18, State Police troopers from Montgomery arrested Angel Rojas, 41 of Newburgh, for DWI. Troopers were assisting the City of Newburgh Police with a traffic stop. While interviewing Rojas, the operator of the vehicle, it was determined that he struck a parked vehicle on Liberty Street and came to a rest on Farrington Avenue in Newburgh. The investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and he was subsequently arrested.
  • On Friday, Jan. 18, State Police troopers from Hamptonburgh arrested Jorge Guerra Rosales, 34 of Newburgh, for DWI. While on patrol, troopers observed a disabled vehicle with front end damage on First Street in Newburgh. While interviewing the operator of the vehicle, Guerra Rosales, it was determined that he was impaired by alcohol and he was subsequently arrested.
  • On Saturday, Jan. 19, State Police troopers from Florida arrested Richard Pennings, 34 of Warwick, for DWI. He was traveling on Jessup Switch Road in Florida when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. The investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and he was subsequently arrested.
  • On Saturday, Jan. 19, State Police troopers from Middletown arrested Jacquelynne Obanks, 27 of Pine Bush, for DWI. She was traveling on Wickham Avenue in Middletown when she was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. The investigation revealed that she was impaired by alcohol and she was subsequently arrested.
  • On Saturday, Jan. 19, State Police troopers from Hamptonburgh arrested Genaro Parra, 22 of Newburgh, for DWI. He was traveling on Little Britian Road in Newburgh when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. The investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and he was subsequently arrested.
  • On Monday, Jan. 21, State Police troopers from Highland arrested Ashley Derosa, 20 of Wallkill, for DWI. Troopers responded to a motor vehicle crash on Route 32 in Plattekill. While interviewing Derosa, the operator of the vehicle, it was determined that she was impaired by alcohol and she was subsequently arrested.

Putnam County

  • On Monday, Jan. 21, State Police troopers from Coxsackie arrested Joseph Hunt, 39 of Carmel, for DWI. He was traveling on Route 23A in the town of Hunter when his vehicle became disabled. Troopers stopped to render assistance and determined the operator of the vehicle, Hunt, was impaired by alcohol and he was subsequently arrested. 

Rockland County

  • On Friday, Jan. 18, State Police troopers from Haverstraw arrested Elliot Johnson, 27 of Garnerville, for DWI. He was traveling on the Palisades Interstate Parkway in Rockland when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. The investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and he was subsequently arrested.
